Introduction & About the Authors
Welcome to Millennials in the Workplace! The purpose of this blog is to provide background information on millennials, and how they are viewed in the workplace today. The blog is grounded in research from library databases and attempts to draw connections between the stereotypes made about millennials and the statistics that may or may not align with the stereotypes. The three authors of the blog are Kayla Carew, Alexandra Vincent, and Brianna Purcell. The following paragraphs aim to introduce the reader to each of the authors.
Kayla Carew is a rising junior at Saint Michael’s College in Winooski, VT. She is from Jericho, VT. Kayla has an intended double major of Mathematics and Secondary Education with a minor in Business. On campus, Kayla is involved in “Go Baby Go” – an organization that rewires Power Wheels cars for kids with physical disabilities – and intramural basketball. After graduation, she hopes to teach high school math in Vermont.
Alexandra Vincent is a rising senior at Saint Michael’s College in Winooski, VT. She comes from Rochester, NY and is majoring in Accounting with minors in Business and History. Alex is a part of the Saint Michael’s Women’s Lacrosse team. After undergrad, she aims to attend graduate school either at UVM or Northeastern University.
Brianna Purcell is a rising junior at Saint Michael’s College in Winooski, VT. She has lived in Bedford, New Hampshire her entire life. She has an intended major of Neuroscience with minors in Philosophy and Business. Brianna is a member of the Women’s Basketball team at Saint Michael’s and the Purple Knights Leadership Academy. She would like to attend medical school when she graduates to become a Registered Nurse which will make her a step closer to her ultimate goal of being a Nurse Anesthetist.

Many of the topics that will be highlighted in our blog are touched upon in the video. Sinek does a great job explaining the criticisms of millennials, what millennials want out of work, and other related topics that the blog does not focus on.
